ATMs run into legal hurdle

Amid of promise made by GOI to start releasing Rs 2000 notes through ATMs , it seems to be not an easy task due to license cancellation of Software used in ATMs. Banks may not be able to restart their automated teller machines (ATMs) anytime soon because of a legal hurdle created by an American company withdrawing its software license to a private Indian company servicing over 40,000 ATMs for more than 30 leading public and private banks across India and warning banks not to use its software. Propitiatory companies are adding fuel to the fire in an already worsened situation by unplanned #Demonetization. Had it been any #FreeSoftware program there would not have any such dependency.
